Risk management

Studies of IS managers indicate that the best are good at reducing risk through risk management

In these notes we shall

• consider why we should manage risk
• define and discuss three ways of thinking about risk:
  • quantitative risk
  • socially contructed risk and
  • qualitative risk

Other notes will discuss how risk can affect decision making and what we can do to mitigate risk
