9.30am to 11.00am: Chris Gold - Spatial data structures: dynamic and kinetic.

This will give an overview of some available data structures, and how to design or select an appropriate one for a particular project. The emphasis will be on the PAN-graph design tool, primal and dual graphs, and the Quad-Edge data structure.


11.30am to 12.00pm: Rebecca Tse

Deriving Euler Operators from the Quad-Edge structure, and their application in adding man-made features to terrain.


12.00pm to 12.30pm: Maciej Dakowicz

Enhanced terrain modelling using the Voronoi diagram and the crust and skeleton.


12.30pm to 13.00pm: Hugo Ledoux

The 3D Voronoi diagram for volumetric modelling: algorithms and applications.


2.00pm to 5.00pm: Chris, Rebecca, Maciej and Hugo

Introduction to 3D graphics programming with OpenGL. A variety of simple exercises will be demonstrated, showing how to draw and shade simple objects: triangles, cubes, spheres and TINs. Attendants will then attempt to code these examples in the lab. A variety of programming materials will be supplied. (No previous programming experience required!)
