This exercise assumes basic knowledge of Access

Keep Fit - Section 1

Scenario

You have been asked to keep a record of sports facilities in the area. The following information has to be recorded:

Sport Centre Name, Address, Town, Telephone Number

	Create a blank database giving it the name Keep Fit
	Create a table *Centres* that will hold the 4 fields identified above. All fields will be of the datatype text. Once you have entered the fields you will have to identify a primary key, allow access to create one for you.
	Enter the following information into the table Centres

Your table should now look like the table below

	Close the table.
	Create a new report choosing the AutoReport option. The reports should be based on the table Centres and be in a tabular format. Name the report Sport Centres.
	Close the database.

Keep Fit - Section 2

Scenario

The Keep Fit database has proved very useful, and people are now asking if it could hold information such as the facilities at each centre.

Add the following fields to the Centres table as a Yes/No datatype.

Swimming Pool, Squash Courts, Large Hall

Update the tables with the following information

Your table in datasheet view should now look like this

Create Queries to find the following information, saving each query with an appropriate name.

	Name and telephone number of all Sports Centres sorted in descending order.
	In alphabetical order list the name and full address of all Sports Centres that have Swimming pools.
	How many centres have squash courts.
	How many of the centre telephone numbers start with 01443.

	Create a new report using the Report Wizard that lists all Sports centres and their facilities; you can exclude the centre Id, full address and town. The report should take the following format; it should be sorted on Sport Centre Name, in a tabular format in landscape mode and the style should be set to Soft Grey. The report should be named Centre Facilities.
	The report Centre Facilities should look like the report below.
	Close the database.

Keep Fit - Section 3

Scenario:

To make data entry easier you have been asked to create an input form, so that further records can be added to the database.

	Open the Keep Fit database.
	Select the Centres Table.
	Create an AutoForm, using the AutoForm button to input details into the table *Centres*.
	Customise the form so that it looks like the one below.
	Create a new record and enter the following information

Sports Centre Ystrad Mynach Sports Centre
Address
Town Ystrad Mynach
Telephone Number 01222 851845
Facilities It has a large hall

	Re-run and print out the queries & reports created in section 2.
	Create some queries of your own.
