Also referred to as 'The New Testament' by enthusiasts, this sequel to the highly acclaimed "How To Modify Your Mini" by David Vizard - acknowledged expert on the A-series engine - is the ultimate reference.
As the A-Series engine was used in a number of different vehicles, the emphasis is taken from the Mini and the book focuses more on the engine and associated ancillaries, thereby being of relevance not only to the Mini owner, but countless others also. This is not lost on the Mini owner who is made aware of all the different donor vehicles from which engines, for 'tuning', may be obtained.
David leaves no stone unturned in his search for ultimate performance, the book is the product of thousands of hours of practical research, and uncovers all that is good or bad about the standard engine and shows the reader what can be done to improve the systems' performance. From engine to exhaust it also includes advice on cooling and brakes.
Much of the work described in the book benefits from extremely detailed descriptions punctuated with photographs and detailed dimensioned drawings meaning that much of it can be carried out by any reasonably competent motor mechanic or experienced enthusiast, and few readers will not be tempted to try at least some of the 'tricks of the trade' offered.
For the less experienced reader the book offers good background material and references that will allow the interested individual to learn much on the subjects contained in the book.
No Mini library would be complete without this book.
