I want to introduce you to the work of Roger Penrose. Penrose is an important critic of AI, and I want to look at both his views of AI and mathematics. Then I go on to look at some of the flaws in Penrose's reasoning. Finally I offer a different perspective on AI and mathematics to Penrose.
